Has it been a decade since "Vivrant Thing" dropped?
Damn. Just about. Q-Tip's first and only solo album "Amplified" came out way back in 1999 so fans have waited nearly ten years for the Tribe Called Quest leader to release a new record.
The Abstract will be signing copies of that new album, "The Renaissance," at a midnight release party at Fat Beats tonight at Sixth Avenue and Eighth Street.
Though Q-Tip handles most of the production on the album, word has it that the late great J Dilla produced a few tracks. If the new single "Getting Up" is any indication, the album is gonna be hot.
