Man Wins Lottery Playing Madoff's Prison Number

A Queens man is actually richer thanks to Bernie Madoff. Payback time!

A construction worker from Queens who "saw Madoff's prison number in a newspaper and had a good feeling" played the last three digits (0-5-4) in the N.Y. state lottery's Numbers game -- and won.

The downside? 500 other lottery players had the same idea, says the Associated Press. The Numbers draw that followed news of Madoff's guilty plea produced 501 winning tickets, nearly four times the usual number. Hence the relatively low payout of $1500. Still, the winners actually made money thanks to Bernie Madoff -- and how many people can say that?
