Iconic character wanted.

The New York City Parks Department is looking for a mascot to symbolize the city's parks. The search, which is open to the public, will run through spring.

New Yorkers may submit their ideas by uploading their original artwork through the Parks web site, www.nyc.gov/parks.

The Parks Department is the steward of more than 29,000 acres of land, including 4,000 individual properties ranging from Central Park to Yankee Stadium.
