Sixpoint brewmaster Shane C. Welch grew up in Milwaukee and says if it wasn't for local breweries sharing their knowledge, he would have never succeeded in the beer biz. He now spreads the good karma, encouraging aspiring home brewers to learn by sharing Sixpoint yeasts. Welch tells us he's even planning a pilot brewery program that will welcome like-minded hops hounds for recreational beer-making Saturdays. Very generous, but the good also outweighs the potential of future competition. He feels it benefits the company for people to be able to identify well-made, great beer and working with the product leads to better appreciation. We suppose newbies also get very good at detecting beer gone very, very wrong. More details as they come.
