Two people are dead after an early morning crash Thursday on the Palmetto Expressway, authorities said.
A truck slammed into the back of a car killing a man and a woman inside, police said.
The accident shut down the Palmetto 826 until about 5:30 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol. They said the couple was traveling southbound on the Palmetto when they were rear-ended on the ramp on NW 36th Street.
"Alcohol could be a factor but we're still investigating," Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Nelvys Hernandez told NBC Miami.
