Seedy Bear Accused in Garage Theft

Furry suspect believed to have retreated to wooded area

Wisconsin authorities are on the hunt for a sticky-fingered bear with a taste for sunflower seeds.

Police in Lincoln County said they received a call about a break in at a man’s garage in Russell. The man reported that the intruder had also swiped a 50-pound bag of sunflower seeds, the Green Bay Press Gazette reported.

Cops on the scene discovered a broken window with claw marks on the window sill, the paper reported.

They also found evidence that the bear had dragged the seeds into nearby woods while making its escape.
