Homeless Man Faces Arrest After Mud Rescue

Clayton Senn to be booked after release from hospital.

A homeless New Mexico man rescued after being stuck in the mud for three days near the Rio Grande won’t be free for long.

Police said the man, identified as Clayton Senn, was wanted for felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and would be booked upon release from an Albuquerque hospital, The Associated Press reported.

A group of high school students and their biology teacher stumbled on Senn yelling for help Saturday morning from a marshy wetlands area of the Oxbow Open Space Preserve, the AP reported.

Senn, 35, told the group he had been stuck in the freezing cold for three days and needed water, according to KOB Eyewitness News 4.

Authorities reportedly used an air boat and pulley system to dislodge Senn, who police said was a transient who had been living near the river.

He was being treated for mild hypothermia, KRQE reported.
