Man Apologizes for Shooting at “Wrong Car”: Cops

He really missed the mark.

One of Louisiana’s most wanted fugitives “got the wrong guy” when he allegedly fired at a car carrying two women while aiming at another vehicle on Christmas Eve, The Times-Picayune reported.

The women, ages 39 and 27, heard a loud “bang” as they passed a swerving white car on Interstate 10 and saw that their rear window had been shattered, Kenner Police Department spokesman Lt. Wayne McInnis told the paper.

After they pulled over, a man later identified as Kendall L. Reid, 36, approached the women and said, “Sorry, wrong car.”

He then returned to his red Corvette and continued driving, police said.

Reid was later arrested in New Jersey. He was held under $250,000 bond Monday after being extradited to Louisiana and booked in Kenner last Wednesday, the Times-Picayune reported.  He faces charges of assault/driveby shooting and aggravated criminal damage to property.

Police believe Reid was aiming for the swerving white vehicle, whose driver is unknown, when he fired at the women, McInnis said.
