After an afternoon without Farmville, Facebook appears to be back online.
Thursday's outage was the second in as many days. The social networking site was reported down across the country. Outages are rare for the Palo Alto-based company.
With 500 million users, we're sure somebody had a big life event to post, but couldn't.
Facebook users turned to their other favorite social networking site to vent their frustrations. A flurry of tweets flooded Twitter as people looked for a way to share themselves. Top trending topics on Twitter included "Facebook Isnt Working," "DNS failure," "Mark Zuckerberg" and "Service Unavailable."
Some of the sites most popular tweets poked fun at the perceived hysteria of a Facebook outage.
"While Facebook Isnt Working, Twitter will go over capacity, (and MySpace remains unused,) some Americans will finally meet their neighbors," wrote @liammalone.
"Facebook isnt working. What would happen if Twitter and Facebook weren't working at the same time? Where would we complain about it?" wrote @KourtneyJessica.
"Either Facebook is down or Mark Zuckerberg just set everything to PRIVATE," wrote @joeschmitt.

Earlier in the day, Facebook said it's "currently experiencing some site issues causing Facebook to be slow or unavailable for some users." A company spokesperson said they were working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
"Quickly" appeared to take about 45 minutes as users began to be able to use the site depending on where they were located and what browser they were using.
Facebook loaded slowly earlier in the day, but showed a "Network Error" message in the 1 p.m. hour in California.
