Cassettes Make Comeback as Consumers Yearn for the Antique

Many music lovers are hitting the rewind button, turning back to analog cassette tapes, NBC News reported.

Demand for cassette tapes has surged, according to National Audio Co. The company produced 10 million tapes in 2014, according to a Bloomberg report.

"We attribute our success, as I say often, to stubbornness and stupidity," said Steve Stepp, the company's president.

Cassettes were overshadowed by compact discs during the 1990s, and sales dipped to 4 percent of all music sales with the onset of digital music files.
