New York, NY (Sports Network) - Vince Carter scored 20 points and hauled in nine rebounds, as the New Jersey Nets defeated the New York Knicks, 111-110, as both teams closed out their preseason schedule at Madison Square Garden.

Devin Harris and Bobby Simmons each had 16 points for New Jersey, and first- round pick Brook Lopez contributed 14 points and five rebounds. The Nets will open up their regular season schedule on October 29 at Washington.

The Knicks closed out the game on a 26-6 run in the final six-plus minutes, but Jamal Crawford's three-point attempt as time expired hit the rim.

Crawford finished the game with 30 points and seven assists, and Nate Robinson had 13 points for New York, which will open up its regular season schedule October 29 at home against Miami.
