Nets waive Van Horn, Gill

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - The New Jersey Nets have waived four players, including forward Keith Van Horn and guard Eddie Gill, to reach the roster limit of 15.

Van Horn hasn't played in an NBA game since the 2005-06 season. His contract was acquired on February 19 of last season from Dallas in the trade that sent Jason Kidd to the Mavericks.

The 33-year-old Van Horn played the first five seasons (1997-2002) of his NBA career with the Nets and had career averages of 16 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. He also played for Philadelphia, New York, Milwaukee and Dallas.

Gill, who averaged 4.5 points in six preseason games for the Nets, has appeared in 181 NBA games with New Jersey, Memphis, Portland and Indiana.

The Nets also waived guard Julius Hodge and forward Brian Hamilton.
