NBA Game Summary – New Jersey at New York

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Vince Carter hit 5-of-9 shots from behind the arc, en route to 29 points, as the New Jersey Nets crushed the New York Knicks, 115-89, at Madison Square Garden.

Brook Lopez added 23 points, eight assists and five rebounds for the Nets, who snapped a four-game slide. Keyon Dooling ended with 17 points and eight helpers while Chris Douglas-Roberts scored a season-high 14 in the win.

The Nets were without guard Devin Harris, who was diagnosed with a sprained left shoulder Tuesday and center Sean Williams, who was suspended for two games for conduct detrimental to the team on Wednesday.

The Nets are 2 1/2 games off the final playoff berth in the East and 15-20 away from the Meadowlands this season.

Al Harrington tallied 21 points and Nate Robinson 18 for the Knicks, who dropped their second straight game. David Lee scored 13 points and Wilson Chandler 12 with 10 boards in defeat.

The Knicks remain a half-game behind New Jersey for the final playoff spot in the East and are 18-16 at MSG this season.

The Knicks built a 23-20 lead after the first quarter, but the Nets battled back to grab a 55-44 advantage at the break.

Lopez scored New Jersey's first six points and Yi Jianlian added a layup, as the Nets assumed a 63-46 lead with less than two minutes gone in the third period.

Carter's three and Dooling's layup gave the visitors a 20-point lead, 74-54, right around the midway point of the third.

"It was frustrating because we had a nice little streak going," said Lee. "Sometimes you don't play your best and we didn't play our best tonight."

The Nets' lead hovered around 20 the rest of the third, and it was 90-70 heading into the final 12 minutes. New York failed to make it competitive in the final 12 minutes.

"I thought at some point everybody got into their game and worrying about their stats," Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We just had a lack of desire, we couldn't push the ball, pass or shoot. We couldn't do anything."
