Bronx native Daryl Homer made his Olympic debut at the 2012 London Games where he placed sixth individually. His interest in fencing was sparked after seeing a picture of the sport in a children's dictionary when he was five years old. Too young to fence, his mother made him wait a few years. Homer, who currently lives and trains in Manhattan, got his start at the Peter Westbrook Foundation.
