Yankee Stadium Sale Continues Unabated

The trove of items for sale hasn't diminished

We've covered the sale of items from the old Yankee Stadium on these pages before, but with the demolition continuing at a brisk pace we thought it would be a good time to check in and see what's still for sale.

Pretty much everything as it turns out. Plenty of seats, from the regular bowl as well as the bleachers, are still for sale. It's $1,500 for a pair of the seats, but if you're willing to throw in an extra $1,700 you can get the seats as part of a package including a Derek Jeter-autographed "Thank the Good Lord for Making Me a Yankee" sign.

There are several other signs for sale, which are a lot more interesting (and cheaper) than the seats. If you buy a pair of seats, all that means is that you're a Yankee fan. Someone comes to your house, you show them your seats and they can size you up in a second. There's nothing wrong with that, of course, but it's a pretty short interaction.

If you choose to buy an "All Items Subject to Search" sign, however, you're going to get some questions which could lead in some very revealing directions. Perhaps your earliest memory of Yankee Stadium was your father sneaking in a can of Ballantines and you wanted to honor him, or maybe you're just a stickler for the Fourth Amendment, but having that hanging on your wall is going to be a conversation starter either way.

That said, we'll all probably be better off not knowing much about the person who buys the "Fire Hose Connection" sign.

The most expensive item currently on sale is sod is a 4' x 80' piece of sod from a specified area of the field, but there doesn't appear to be any dirt from the original ballpark still on sale. Dirt lovers need not despair, however, because they've already started selling collecting it from the new digs and putting it on sale.
