The incarcerated NBA star still has time to talk about Rush and Rihanna.

Charles Barkley began serving his three-day sentence at Arizona's Maricopa County Jail (aka, "Tent City") on Saturday before taking time to speak with reporters in the afternoon. Most inmates don't hold press conferences (while name-checking TMZ, Barack Obama and Rush Limbaugh and even Chris Brown and Rihanna, no less) while serving time, but then again, most inmates aren't NBA Hall of Famers.

Barkley was originally sentenced to five days at Tent City after pleading guilty to a DUI but had the sentence reduced to three days last week -- although, technically speaking, he only spent roughly half of that time in custody

Barkley, a TNT studio analyst, will spend all of Saturday in custody, but will be given work release from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. He will get work release at 8 a.m. Monday and will not have to return to the tents at 8 p.m.

During the 36 hours of time Barkley was in custody, he was expected to speak to some of the facility's juvenile offenders -- perhaps to remind them one more time that he really isn't a role model.
