Brodeur leaves game with bruised elbow

Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - New Jersey Devilsgoaltender Martin Brodeur left Saturday's game against Atlanta with a bruised left elbow.

Brodeur skated off the ice in the second period. He first appeared to hurt his elbow reaching for a shot and was involved in a goal-mouth scramble moments later.

The four-time Vezina Trophy winner has started each of New Jersey's 10 games this season. He entered Saturday's contest with a mark of 5-2-2 and a 2.27 goals-against average.

Kevin Weekes replaced Brodeur in the New Jersey net.
