A two-time WNBA scoring and steals leader, McCoughtry was second on the 2012 U.S. Olympic team in points per game, averaging 10.9 when the U.S. took the gold medal in London in 2012. Shooting 62 percent, McCoughtry shot the highest percentage of all female basketball players competing in 2012. 

Hailing from a basketball family – her father played collegiate basketball at Coppin State University – it should be no surprise Angel McCoughtry is a standout basketball player. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, McCoughtry attended the University of Louisville, where she set school records for scoring and rebounding. After being selected by the Atlanta Dream with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 WNBA Draft, the vibrant forward was named the WNBA Rookie of the Year.

McCoughtry went on to lead the Dream to the WNBA Finals three times. She was selected to the All-WNBA first team twice and played in four WNBA All-Star Games. She led the WNBA in points per game in 2012 and 2013.
