NBA Game Summary – New York at New Jersey

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - Devin Harris scored 35 points, including eight in the fourth quarter, and doled out 10 assists to lead the New Jersey Nets past the New York Knicks, 106-101, at the IZOD Center.

Vince Carter, who briefly left the game in the fourth quarter after a knee-to- knee collision with New York's Danilo Gallinari, chipped in 25 points and nine rebounds for the Nets, who are still just 2-3 over their last five games.

Brook Lopez scored 16 points in the win, and Bobby Simmons had 10 off the bench.

David Lee finished with 19 points and 14 boards for the Knicks, who have dropped five of six overall. Nate Robinson gave 17 points and five helpers off the bench while Gallinari totaled 15.

Al Harrington and Larry Hughes scored 14 and 11, respectively, in defeat.

The Nets were ahead by three with 34 seconds left, but Carter turned the ball over to give the Knicks a chance to tie it up. Wilson Chandler missed a three, but Lee grabbed the rebound and relayed it to Hughes, who also missed a three. Simmons corralled the rebound and drew a foul NY had to give.

Chris Duhon then fouled Harris on the Nets' ensuing touch, and he hit both shots with 15.7 ticks left to seal the Knicks' fate.

The Knicks held a slight 30-27 lead after the first quarter and increased that to 57-53 heading into the intermission.

New York led by seven halfway through the third, but a pair of free throws from Harris sparked a 10-2 New Jersey run. Harris and Carter closed it out with consecutive baskets to give the Nets a 69-68 lead with just under five minutes left in the third.

The Nets opened a 79-77 lead heading into the final 12 minutes.

Robinson's layup and Chandler's short-range jumper gave the Knicks a short- lived 89-87 lead early in the fourth.

The teams traded baskets and eventually Simmons' three-pointer gave the Nets a 94-91 advantage with 5:39 left to play.

The lead went back-and-forth from there until Lopez' jumper and Harris' steal and fastbreak layup made it 102-99 with 1:15 showing on the clock.
