Knicks G Robinson strains groin

New York, NY (Sports Network) - New York Knicksguard Nate Robinson strained his groin in the second quarter of Tuesday's 119-101 loss to Cleveland.

Robinson dribbled up the court and missed a layup, but after coming down winced in pain before falling to the ground with 4:31 left in the half. He was assisted off the court and was then taken to the locker room for examination. He didn't return to the game, and is not likely to play in Wednesday's game at Detroit.

"It feels all right, but you don't know," said Robinson of the injury. "We've got a long season ahead of us. Our bigger goal is to make the playoffs. I don't want to come back early, hurt something else and be out the rest of the season. I want to take it slow right now."

Robinson is averaging 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists this season.
