In the past, the title of "Best Game of the Week" used to belong to Monday Night Football. In recent years, Sunday Night Football has taken over the honor.
Hosting some of the biggest games of the season, one can always guarantee that the wild slate of Sunday games in the NFL concludes with a battle between top teams in the league.
This year has been no different, as matchups featuring potential contenders have happened on a weekly basis. From Tom Brady's return to New England to another iteration of Patrick Mahomes vs. Lamar Jackson, Sunday Night Football has had it all.
The Week 18 matchup features the Los Angeles Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders (8:20 p.m. ET on NBC). When the two teams last met on Oct. 4, the Chargers came away with a 28-14 victory -- moving both teams to 3-1. They've remained even since then, both going 6-6 in their last 12 games to put them at 9-7 entering Week 18.
Both teams are in desperate need of a win to clinch a playoff berth. There's also an absurd scenario where, if the Jaguars beat the Colts earlier in the day, the Chargers and Raiders can tie and both get in.
