Yee Ha! Naked Cowboy Makes It Official

Robert Burck might be considered a quirky asset to New York City's tourism industry. Now the Times Square traffic-stopper known as The Naked Cowboy says he'd make a mighty fine mayor.

Burck made it official on Wednesday. He aims to give the buttoned-up third-term hopeful, billionaire Michael Bloomberg, a run for his money.

When he's not going political, Burke does a brisk business posing for pictures with tourists. His standard fashion statement: just a cowboy hat, boots and white briefs. Oh, yes, and a guitar strapped to his bare chest.

His campaign motto: "How to do more with less.''

With plenty of New Yorkers still angry with Bloomberg for his term-limits end-run, most not knowing who Bill Thompson is and Anthony Weiner opting for nuptials over politics, Burck's only real competition may come from the Rev. Billy.

Once just another pantsless loon wandering the streets of New York City with a guitar, Burck has improbably crafted a career for himself selling underwear and all manner of memorabilia online while making appearances across the country.
