Ted Cruz to Speak at Republican National Convention

Cruz, however, has not endorsed Donald Trump

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, who tangled with Donald Trump during a contentious primary campaign, has agreed to speak at the Republican National Convention.

"We had a positive and productive meeting this morning with Donald Trump," Cruz said Thursday. "Donald asked me to speak at the Republican convention, and I told him I'd be happy to do so."

Cruz noted that there was "no discussion of any endorsement" in the meeting.

At the convention, Cruz said, he will "urge Americans to get back to the Constitution, to change the path we're on. Eight failed years of the Obama-Clinton economy. Eight failed years of a presidency disregarding the Constitution and Bill of Rights."

The convention is set for July 18-21 in Cleveland.
