A group that audited Bridgeport's gubernatorial results says about one of every four photocopied ballots was miscounted in November's election.
The errors do not affect the outcome of the race, in which Democrat Dan Malloy defeated Republican Tom Foley.
The Connecticut Citizen Election Audit Coalition says counting problems affected about 1,500 of the nearly 6,000 photocopied ballots used when the polls ran out of regular ballots.
The Connecticut Post acquired the ballots under state open-records laws and sponsored the recount with cooperation from Bridgeport city officials.
Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz repeated calls for lawmakers to mandate municipalities to order ballots for every registered voter.
