Men Kidnap Woman From Philadelphia Parking Garage, Dump Her in Cemetery: Police

A woman who worked on Jeweler's Row in Philadelphia was kidnapped, tied up, beaten, Tasered and robbed before she was left alone at a cemetery Saturday afternoon, police said.

The victim had just finished work for the day and was making her way to her car inside the parking garage at 733 Chestnut St. in Center City around 4 p.m. when three men grabbed her and forced her into an older model burgundy Ford Econoline cargo van with white graffiti on its side and back, investigators said.

Once inside, the men zip-tied her wrists, placed steel shackles on her ankles and covered her head with a hood before they demanded the keys to her work as well as safe codes, which she did not know, police said.

They drove around with the woman in the van for approximately an hour all the while punching, kicking, choking and shocking her with a Taser, before dumping her in a cemetery in Darby, Delaware County, according to officials.

As she tried to escape, her alleged kidnappers returned and forced the victim to give them her bank card PIN and pulled her back into the van. The men stopped four times to withdraw money, said police.

Following the withdrawals, the unidentified woman was left at the cemetery again. She managed to remove the hood and made her way to Hook Road, where a woman driver stopped to help and called 911.

The victim was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital and treated for a concussion, hematoma, bruises, contusions and scratches, according to investigators.

The driver is in his late 20s, standing 6 feet, 3 inches tall with a muscular build, police said. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, a ski mask and sunglasses.

The second suspect was described as thin, standing 6 feet tall and wearing a gray hoodie, a ski mask and sunglasses. The third man was described as heavy and standing 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a dark hooded sweatshirt and jacket.

All three men were last seen wearing black pants.

Anyone with information on these men is urged to call Philadelphia Police.
