US Shooter Vincent Hancock Misses Mark in Men's Skeet

Hancock captured gold as a 19-year-old at the 2008 Beijing Games

Vincent Hancock's bid for three straight gold medals in skeet is over.

The American shooter failed to make it out of qualifying at the Olympic Shooting Center, hitting 119 of 125 targets. That left him two points shy of the final qualifying spot and in 15th place.

Hancock captured gold as a 19-year-old at the 2008 Beijing Games and became the first skeet shooter to repeat as champion at London in 2012.

Independent athlete Abdullah Al-Rashidi from Kuwait led qualifying.
