A Missouri prosecutor said Wednesday that he has not decided whether to file charges in the death of a 9-month-old boy, who was accidentally shot in the head by his 5-year-old brother with their grandfather's handgun, NBC News reported. Robert Rice, the prosecuting attorney for Nodaway County, said he could not discuss the specifics of the Monday morning shooting in Elmo, Missouri — including who could face charges. He said he was meeting with his team later in the day on Wednesday to review the matter. The grandfather told NBC News that he kept the loaded .22 caliber Magnum in a locked gun case, but said it wasn't tamper-proof.
