$225 Million Powerball Ticket Sold in San Mateo

A $225 million winning lottery ticket was purchased in San Mateo, California.

State lottery officials announced the ticket matched all six numbers in Wednesday night's Powerball drawing. The winning numbers in the drawing are 7, 14, 21, 24, 41 and Powerball 26.

The ticket was purchased at Key Market, located at 500 S. Norfolk Street. The owners of the market, Jack and Nancy Dehoff, will get $1 million for selling the winning ticket.

Key Market has been family-owned for about 20 years. They said they are really happy for the person who is holding the $225 million Powerball ticket.

And they hope it is one of their regular customers.

"We have a lot of good customers who come here and who have come here for a long time," Nancy said. "So, we’re well established and our clientele is also. We’re happy and excited for them, whoever they are."

Other lottery tickets purchased in the Bay Area in the past year have also hit large jackpots.

In February, a $425.3 million Powerball lottery ticket was sold in Milpitas. And in December 2013 a $324 million winning Mega Millions lottery ticket was purchased in San Jose.
