A small plane made a surprise landing Tuesday morning – in the middle of a roadway along the western part of Broward County.

Chopper 6 was over the scene along Okeechobee Road just north of the line between Miami-Dade and Broward, where the Piper single engine aircraft landed in a turnaround area between lanes of traffic.

The pilot, who did not want to be identified, said he started to have issues with the engine and felt he couldn't make it back to the airport, so he decided to land on the road.

There were no reported injuries. It's unclear if there were any passengers inside the plane.
