Colbert to Address #FireColbert Backlash in Show's Monologue: Reports

Colbert loosed a series of insults at Trump on Monday, including making reference to a sex act between Trump and another world leader

Late-night host Stephen Colbert is expected to address the backlash he received after making a blunt joke about President Donald Trump that spurred a #FireColbert hashtag as well as accusations of homophobia, several media outlets reported.

Colbert made the remark Monday while he was standing up for fellow CBS TV host John Dickerson, of "Face the Nation," who interviewed Trump over the weekend.

Trump called his show "Deface the Nation," so Colbert loosed a series of insults at Trump on Monday, including making reference to a sex act between Trump and another world leader.

Colbert ignored the controversy Tuesday night, instead imploring viewers to seek out video of his late-night competitor Jimmy Kimmel, who also made headlines speaking about his newborn son's heart surgery.
