The federal government on Tuesday urged Judge Susan Braden to lift her preliminary ban on purchases of Russian rocket engines, arguing that they did not violate U.S. sanctions on Russian officials sparked by the crisis in the Ukraine. Representatives of the Treasury and State Departments have written letters saying the purchases should be allowed.
