Teenage Girls Detained in Germany, Possibly on Way to Syria

Three girls under 18 are back in the United States after they were stopped in Germany over the weekend and sent home — and there are indications the girls may have been trying to get to Syria, a U.S. official said Tuesday, NBC News reported. German police said the three girls, ages 15 and 16, were stopped on Saturday at Frankfurt Airport at the request of their parents and the U.S. consulate. German authorities said the girls were asked to go back home and voluntarily took a flight back to the States on Sunday.
