“Daily Show” host Jon Stewart has now weighed in on last week’s vice presidential debate. The late-night host fully expected “crazy uncle Joe Biden” to do more damage than good following Obama’s lackluster performance, but was caught off guard when Vice President Joe Biden stepped up to the task.
“Who are you, and what have you done with crazy Joe Biden?” demanded a shell-shocked Stewart.
Stewart noted that Biden, known for his propensity for off-the-cuff remarks, was “not his lovable gaffe-tastic caricature.”

“Fella must have recently upped his Adderall prescription because he was fact-checking this debate in real time,” Stewart quipped of Biden’s swift rebuttals to Rep. Paul Ryan’s comments.
Stewart also noted that Fox’s response to Biden’s strong performance was in stark contrast to MSNBC’s response following the first presidential debate. Stewart pointed out that the political commentators at MSNBC agreed that Mitt Romney bested President Obama, while Fox sought to “delegitimize” every aspect of Biden’s performance.
To spin the veep debate in a different direction, Stewart observed that Fox criticized Biden’s “rude” demeanor, and even went so far as to call in a doctor, who suggested that Biden showed signs of dementia.
"Yes, yes. That rare form of dementia where you remember too much," Stewart mocked.
However, Stewart took Fox’s post-mortem in stride, and summed up the network's reaction thusly: “Joe Biden was an angry, demented, abusive, drunk, old, crazy person who mopped the floor with our guy.”
