Shakira Shakes Up the White House

Shakira is bringing some flavor to the White House.

The Colombian pop superstar spoke to President Obama Monday after meeting with officials to talk about U.S. policy toward child poverty, part of her mission as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

Shakira met with staff from the National Security Council and the Domestic Policy Council to speak about early childhood development, an issue the "Wherever, Whenever" singer has been an advocate of since joining UNICEF.

The singer stopped in to say hello to Obama after the meeting, a White House official said.

Shakira is the latest of a bevy of celebrities to pay a visit to the president -- Brad Pitt is among others to have met with officials at the White House.
