Crystal Bowersox Has New Album on the Way

American Idol” finalist and newlywed Crystal Bowersox’s debut album will hit shelves before Christmas, her record label announced on Wednesday.

“Farmer’s Daughter,” which drops Dec. 14, features 10 of 12 tracks written or co-written by Bowersox, Jive Records announced.

"After finishing up the 2010 American Idol Live Tour, Bowersox headed to New Jersey to begin production on her eagerly awaited debut," Jive said in a press release, UPI reported.

The album boasts a cover of Buffalo Springfield’s “For What It’s Worth,” a song written by former “Idol” judge Kara DioGioGuardi and Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, and “Mason,” which Bowersox co-wrote with hubby/musician Brian Walker.

The pair reportedly performed the song at their Oct. 9 wedding in Chicago, following their weeks-long engagement.

On Wednesday, Bowersox tweeted a photo of her new album cover, which shows the singer seated next to a pitbull she said belonged to the owner of the property where the photoshoot took place.

"The dog's name was Angel," she wrote. "She jumped up there with me and we were just chillin'.”
