Clinton to Iran: Release American Prisoners

Secretary of State calls on Iran to safely return detained Americans

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton pressured Iran again Saturday to return Americans who have been detained in the region, telling leadership in the country that her primary goal is to reunite the missing U.S. citizens with their families back home.

"We once again urge Iran's leadership to quickly resolve all outstanding American citizen cases," Clinton said in a statement just days after a U.S. graduate student who had been held in Iran was returned to Los Angeles.

A retired FBI agent, three hikers and an Iranian-American academic are still stuck in the country, according to Fox News.

"Our goal is to ensure the safe return of all our missing or unjustly detained American citizens to the United States as quickly as possible," Clinton's statement said.
