Christie's New Job Gives Him National Influence

Fresh of his re-election, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was named Chairman of the Republican Governors Association Tuesday, NBC News reported. Christie was chosen by GOP governors to lead their national association and the new high-profile role gives him a chance to sell his party and maybe himself to the national audience, according to NBC News. More than two dozen governors gathered in Arizona for a four-day meeting, through Friday. Republicans will be defending 22 of the 36 governor's seats up for re-election next year and for many it's a chance to boost the party's image. "I'm getting great response from donors and from fellow governors, Christie said. "So I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a great year."
