After a breakfast at the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, the president's motorcade departs the Hotel Texas for Carswell Air Force Base at about 11 a.m.
In the motorcade are the president, the first lady, Vice President Lyndon Johnson and his wife, Lady Bird Johnson, along with Texas Gov. John Connally, Sen. Ralph Yarborough, JFK adviser Kenneth O'Donnell and strategist Larry O'Brien.
The motorcade heads north on Main Street and passes the Tarrant County Courthouse before leaving downtown on Jacksboro Highway. The motorcade then proceeds down River Oaks Boulevard toward Carswell Air Force Base, currently known as the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth.

The flight from Fort Worth to Dallas takes only about 13 minutes and covers just 30 miles. Air Force One leaves Fort Worth at about 11:25 a.m. and touches down at Dallas' Love Field Airport at about 11:40 a.m.
Moments before Air Force One landed, the plane carrying Vice President Johnson and his wife touched down at Love Field allowing the couple time to get into position to welcome the president and first lady to Dallas.
Thousands of supporters, and a few protesters, line a gate around Love Field where many were hoping cheer, support and otherwise gaze upon the glamorous couple. JFK and the first lady moved along a fence, shaking hands with dozens of well-wishers, before finally getting into the presidential limousine to get the motorcade through Dallas underway.
At 11:55 a.m., JFK's motorcade leaves Love Field for it's 9.5 mile journey to the Dallas Trade Mart, where President Kennedy was to speak at about 1 p.m.
