German Parade Canceled Due to “Threat of Attack”: Police

Police in the German town of Braunschweig said a carnival parade was cancelled on short notice Sunday because of the credible threat of an Islamist attack, Reuters reported. "Reliable state security sources have made it known that a concrete threat of attack with an Islamist background exists," authorities in Braunschweig said in a statement. The cancellation comes after three people died, including a gunman, and five more were hurt in two shootings targeting a synagogue and a free speech event in Denmark on Saturday and early Sunday.
