"Game of Thrones" was the world's most illegally downloaded show in 2014 for the third consecutive year, according to a new report from a piracy tracking agency. The swords-and-sorcery drama on HBO was pirated 8.1 million times in 2014, compared with 4.8 illegal downloads of the runner up, AMC's zombie thriller "The Walking Dead." And while the zombie hordes have consistently defeated dragons on the small screen — "The Walking Dead" averages more than 17 million viewers to "Game of Thrones"'s 7 million — the tide of battle may turn, as HBO is set to launch a standalone streaming service in 2015.
