Former Bears Running Back Cedric Benson Reportedly Killed in Motorcycle Accident

He died at the age of 36

Cedric Benson, former Bears running back, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday night, according to KXAN, an NBC sister station in Austin, Texas.

“Police say a mini-van was trying to cross the intersection when it ran into a motorcycle,” reported KXAN. “Benson and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene.”

Benson was drafted 4th overall by the Chicago Bears in 2005.

He died at the age of 36.

The Bears issued out a statement on Twitter saying, "our condolences to the friends and family of former Bears running back Cedric Benson, our 4th overall Draft pick in 2005 and member of the 2006 NFC Champions team."
