Emotional Support Dog Bites Passenger on San Diego-Bound Flight: Delta

The incident on Monday's flight happened before the plane pushed back from the gate

A passenger on board a San Diego-bound Delta flight was bitten by another traveler's emotional support dog, the airlines confirmed.

The passenger was taken off the plane at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport "to receive medical attention," according to Delta Airlines spokesman Anthony Black.

The incident on Monday's flight happened before the plane pushed back from the gate, Black said.

The airline said local police spoke with the dog's owner before clearing the animal to travel in a kennel.

The support dog's owner was re-accommodated on a later flight.

No further information was immeditately available.
