‘We Know Who the Shooter Is': Brother of Dodgers Pitcher Josh Ravin Shot Multiple Times

The victim was in stable condition.

The brother of a Dodgers pitcher was shot five times while entering his garage at the rear alley of his residence early Sunday, his family confirmed.

The victim, identified by his mother, is Joel Ravin, brother of Dodgers relief pitch Josh Ravin.

Joel was shot twice in the neck, once in the arm, stomach and side, his mother said.

He was in stable condition, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Ravin's mother said Joel was out of surgery, and she was praying for her son.

The shooting occurred at 1:45 a.m. in the 22900 block of Vanowen Street in West Hills.

Police said someone confronted the victim and began firing at him.

Josh Ravin also tweeted about the incident.

"My brother was shot [three times] this morning by a mentally unstable person," Ravin said in a tweet. "We don't need gun control. We need Mental Health Control!"

Lana Ravin, Joel and Josh's mother, said they knew the shooter.

"We know who the shooter is. So does the LAPD. Justice is on the way!" the athlete said via Twitter.

Police did not have a suspected shooter in custody as of Sunday afternoon.
