Ads Appear Before ISIS YouTube Videos

Several major companies were unaware that advertisements for their products were playing before ISIS videos on YouTube, NBCNews reported Tuesday. The companies — including Proctor & Gamble, Toyota and Anheuser-Busch — were among the companies with ads that ran before the Islamic State propaganda, starting as early as last week until as late as Tuesday morning. YouTube removed the ISIS videos. A spokesperson for the Google-owned video sharing site told NBC News that "YouTube has clear policies prohibiting content intended to incite violence," and that the site "works to prevent ads appearing against any video once we determine that the content is not appropriate for our advertising partners."
