Running on Empty: Chloe Kim Tweets About Food During Halfpipe Final

Her hunger might've fueled her third run, which was the highest-scored of the night at 98.25

Someone feed Chloe Kim.

The 17-year-old American snowboarder tweeted between runs of the women's halfpipe that she was "hangry" because she didn't finish her breakfast sandwich.

"Wish I finished my breakfast sandwich but my stubborn self decided not to and now I'm getting hangry," Kim wrote after her second of three runs.

Her hunger might've fueled her third run, which was the highest-scored of the night at 98.25. It was also essentially a victory lap, as she had already secured the gold with her first run of 93.75.

Before the final, Kim had about 15,000 Twitter followers, according to the sites' data analysis account. By the time she won a gold medal --the 99th for Team USA in the Winter Games-- and tweeted about her "hangry" state, she had well over 100,000 followers.

Kim's latest food-related tweet follows a similar one from a day earlier, when she tweeted about wanting ice cream while in the middle of qualifying for the halfpipe event.

Cookies and cream won NBC Olympics' ice cream flavor Twitter poll responding to Kim's request for ice cream, to which she replied, "Cookies & Cream is some good stuff. If anyone can get me some to the village thatd be dope."

And before craving ice cream, she tweeted her secret to calming her nerves: churros.

"I also had 2 churros today and they were pretty bomb so if you ever get nervous eat a churro," she tweeted.
