A Wrigleyville resident had his window shattered Sunday, and the culprit was apparently a home run hit at Wrigley Field.
Unfortunately for Cubs fans, the batter was Cardinals player Mark Reynolds.
The Cardinals were hosting batting practice when Reynolds hit a ball out of the park and into the window of 24-year-old David Brown.
Brown told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch he had just returned from the Chicago Marathon and was going to go to the beach during the afternoon, but decided to watch some of the batting practice from a window in his second-story apartment on West Waveland Avenue.
Brown reportedly ended up with a few minor cuts after the surprising incident, but that didn’t stop him from having some fun.
He posted signs in his window reading, "Hey Mark, I’m telling your mom!" and "460," the distance he estimates the ball traveled.
When asked, Reynolds told the publication he doesn’t plan on covering the cost of repairing the window, joking that it comes with the territory of being so close to the park and saying, "it's just like living on a golf course," but Brown said he didn’t want any money.
Instead, he offered to send a piece of glass to Reynolds as a souvenir and suggested the possibility of getting tickets to Monday’s Game 3 at Wrigley Field.

The Cubs are scheduled to take on the Cardinals Monday evening in their first home playoff game of the season. The five-game series is currently tied 1-1.
