Now, the UFO-like Palm Springs home is now on sale for $24.9 million, a dramatic drop from when it first came on the market in March 2013 for $50 million.
The British comedian and his wife Doloros commissioned the famous American architect John Lautner, a disciple of Frank Lloyd Wright, to design the house in the 1960s, according to the home's real estate listing. It was finally finished in 1980.
The "Today" show took a look inside the spacey home that offers panoramic views of the destination community's Southbridge neighborhood. The 23,366-square-foot home has six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, indoor and outdoor pools, putting greens, a tennis court, murals by Garth Benton, and a massive patio where the Hopes entertained guests like the Clintons and Elizabeth Taylor.
