Asian-American Leaders Slam Bill as “Anti-Immigrant”

Asian-American elected officials and community leaders are blasting a bill passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday that includes a number of provisions targeting President Obama's executive actions related to immigration, NBC News reported. The bill funds the Department of Homeland Security but has a number of provisions that Asian-American leaders say could lead to the deportation of millions of undocumented immigrants. "The livelihood of undocumented families should not be used as a bargaining tool in national security politics," OCA Asian Pacific American Advocates' Acting Chief Executive Officer Ken Lee said. President Obama said he will veto any bill that tries to dismantle his executive action shielding some undocumented immigrants.
