1 Arrested in Fatal Mob Stabbing of San Francisco Apple Analyst, DJ

An arrest was made Wednesday in connection with a fatal mob attack outside a San Francisco nightclub that left a DJ dead and his friend wounded last month, authorities said.

The San Francisco District Attorney's Office said Nestor Canchola was arrested and booked into county jail on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.

Canchola's arrest comes after the San Francisco Chronicle reported that 29-year-old Joseph Razo died Tuesday after the fight outside the Cellar nightclub.

San Francisco police said Razo, a DJ and Apple data analyst, and his friend were leaving the club on Jan. 25 when they noticed a group of at least seven people attacking another friend. The pair waded into the fray to help.

Police said someone in the crowd stabbed Razo and his friend before the group of attackers dispersed. Both injured men were taken to San Francisco General Hospital. The unnamed friend recovered but Razo died this week.

The case remains under investigation, authorities said. It was not immediately clear if Canchola had an attorney.

According to Razo's website, he began performing after meeting popular DJ Kid Capri, and has played across California and in Seattle and Atlanta.
