Undertaker Uses Jokes, Tweets to Talk About Death

A sixth-generation Pennsylvania undertaker is using humor and social media to talk about death and how precious life is.

The Philadelphia Daily News reports Saturday that Caleb Wilde has sent tweets suggesting that he ties the shoelaces of the dead together because it would be "hilarious" if there's ever a zombie apocalypse. Wilde says he doesn't actually do that.

The paper reports that Wilde's "Confessions of a Funeral Director" blog on Facebook get 600,000 to 1 million hits a week, and he has more than 17,000 Twitter followers.

Wilde says he doesn't accept advertising for his social media. He takes antidepressants and is open about the depression he suspects many others in the business struggle with. He says writing a blog is his therapy.
